Sydney is a skilled marketing and communications consultant with 20 years of experience that spans the non-profit, government, consumer packaged goods, and spirits industries. She draws on 10+ years of brand management, marketing strategy, and innovation to unlock growth. She has a track record of delivering results for clients in corporate, non-profit, and political sectors by offering a range of strategic and executional marketing solutions that optimize customer outreach. Her client projects have included developing an annual marketing strategy and execution plan as well as shaping public perception via a cohesive communications strategy that included social media content, press releases, newsletters, and blog content. With years of corporate experience, Sydney also provides business strategy solutions. She recently facilitated a client’s annual planning strategic offsite, including planning logistics, developing the agenda, leading exercises and discussion, and using key session outputs to recommend a focused annual plan.

 

Most recently Sydney was a Senior Associate Brand Manager on the Brand Strategy Team at Gallo, which brings in an annual revenue of $5.3B and is the largest wine producer in the world. The company has expanded into spirits and ready-to-drink beverages with the blockbuster High Noon and Pink Whitney brands. Sydney was part of an internal consultancy in the enterprise recognized for its subject matter expertise in consumer empathy drivers, breakthrough brand positioning, portfolio strategy, and go-to-market strategies. She was an outcome owner on complex projects, working with cross functionals throughout a multi-faceted organization to deliver objectives on time and in full.

 

Previously as a Brand Manager at Sazerac leading Fireball’s domestic and global innovation, Sydney worked across the organization to develop disruptive new products worth $91MM gross profit with record-breaking speed to market. She developed sales tools to increase distribution, sales growth, and consumer awareness, which resulted in volume +19% and $56MM gross profit in 2021.

 

Sydney built her brand marketing foundation in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, working at multinational companies, Unilever and Danone. At Unilever she initiated Breyers co-brand partnership with Cinnabon and developed concepts and a business case for the brand’s innovation pipeline worth $34MM net sales in year 1. At Danone, she managed base business and daily marketing operations for International Delights 3 co-branded creamer partnerships (worth $135MM), Dunkin’ Creamers (worth $5MM), and Horizon’s center store portfolio spanning 6 categories (worth $30MM), delivering aggressive growth targets.

 

Prior to getting her MBA at University of Wisconsin, Sydney began her career in the non-profit industry before moving into a 5-year government consulting career where she honed her project management skills while providing business strategy and IT process improvement solutions to clients at the Department of Defense and Department of Navy. She won peer-nominated Booz Allen Performance & Team Awards in 2009, 2010 and 2011 for outstanding client service; eliminated costly, redundant services and simplified access for a network of 660,000+ users.

  • Led integrated agency team developing and executing a creative campaign for an entertainment partnership with Fox’s Peanuts franchise; netted $47MM gross sales, +16% vs. year ago and 2016 Q1 in-store displays were 22x’s that of full-year 2015.

MARKET & CONSUMER DATA ANALYSIS

  • While at Sazerac, assessed multiple sources of consumer research to identify compelling insights and develop innovation platforms that produced more consumer-focused new products.

  • Doubled Horizon’s center store sales in year 1 through monitoring the category, analyzing market performance, adjusting demand planning, and executing in-store shippers.

P&L and DEMAND MODELING

  • Developed 3–5-year brand innovation forecasts using competitive and internal proxies to inform go-to-market strategies and distribution expansion plans.
